When you grow up

What do you want to be when you grow up? The question he kept on hearing throughout his childhood days. All his peers wanted to be an Engineer or a Doctor. Little Ameen never had a difficulty in answering this. He replied, 'Postman'. The entire family laughed at the kid.

'The grownups are very strange. What is there to laugh in this', Ameen wondered. His father, along with his uncles and family is working in middle east. Those days, his mom receives snail mail weekly or fortnightly. There used to be almost a celebration on the day she receives the mail.

Little Ameen related all this festival mood to the most important person who brought happiness to his house. 'THE Postman'. He relaxes in the chair by reading the newspaper. He gets tea whenever he visits Ameen's house.

Little Ameen wanted to bring happiness to everyone and decided to be a Postman but ended up as a Software Engineer.

Friends,
What you wanted to be when you were a kid?

he he good one.. :)

I could not recollect all of my childish desires on what i want to be... i always had a deepest desire to become a driver who can drive at 60 kmph through the roads in our village... i still admire a guy who used to drive his jeep at 60kmph..

last time when i was in india, i tried to drive through my village for the first time and ended up in losing 500 rupees for paying the hospital fee for a side walker..

if i start writing about all of it , i would better write a blog abt it..

anyways, that little desire of that old kid still remains as a desire...

Hey good one..

I don't remember everything.. But at one point (when I was around 7 - 8 yrs old) I wanted to be an auto driver.. I even pestered our "family auto driver" to teach me how to drive the auto.. He kept promising to do so, but the promises have remained just that :(

@Rajoottan,
Try to learn driving from a proper driving school... You can save 500 Rs next time :)

@ King Vishy,
I hope you learned to drive auto at some stage in life.. If not, try to get a license. Might not be useful, but still you might love it :)
